Arbutus Tangle: Oil on canvas. 16"x20"

This image started out with a distressed background where paint was allowed to flow and dribble in different directions. The tree was worked into the image to provide structure and order to the piece. It is an arbutus tree, resident to the west coast, which twists and turns towards sunlight.
